Guiding Questions: Micah 3

This is part of the Tanakh Yomi Project.

  1. The leaders are expected to be fully conversant with? (Micah 3:1)
  2. But, in practice what do these leaders do?
  3. Would Micah 3:3 imply competition or exploitation?
  4. When the leaders, facing trouble, will call upon God, what response can be expected (Micah 3:4)?
  5. What is the result of “God’s face is hidden”?
  6. To which (type of) prophets does Micah 3:5 refer?
  7. What will become of this genre of prophet (Micah 3:6)?
  8. Based on Micah 3:7, is Micah one of these prophets?
  9. Who is the “I” in Micah 3:8?
  10. Is expansion/growth/power evaluated as progress irrespective of the means (Micah 3:10)?
  11. Specifically — of what are the judges accused? The Kohanim? The “prophets”?
  12. And do those accused nevertheless assert that God is their mentor and “with them”?
  13. The final result of this travesty will be? (Micah 3:12)
