Guiding Questions: II Kings 19

This is part of the Tanakh Yomi Project.

  1. What is a “birthstool” that II Kings 19:3 discusses?
  2. Explain the image that Hezekiah invokes of the “God of Israel, who dwells between the kruvim.” (II Kings 19:15)
  3. Note the author’s switch to religious poetry and imagery. This section stands in stark contrast to many sections of this book.
  4. Why does God seem to have “a change of heart,” in this chapter when He takes decisive action to assist the Israelites against their enemies? Why here and now?
