Guiding Questions: Isaiah 46

This is part of the Tanakh Yomi Project.

  1. What would the reference to the “remnant of the house of Israel” (Isaiah 46:3) imply if not explicate?
  2. How does Isaiah 46:5 assert the uniqueness of Divinity?
  3. Does Isaiah 46 appear to be addressed to the Israelites or, rather, to those who are persecuting them?
  4. And, if to the persecutors, what is the message?
  5. And, further, by implication, what is the “promise” for Israel?
  6. Is any time element posited for the realization of the “promise”?
