Guiding Questions: Isaiah 29

This is part of the Tanakh Yomi Project.

  1. Is the “prophecy” in Isaiah 29:1-5 one of optimism or of despair?
  2. According to Isaiah 29:10, the inability of the leaders and their intellectual “somnambulism” is actually from what source? And, why is this done?
  3. Would Isaiah 29:15-16 imply an “atheistic” stance?
  4. But, although the leaders face imminent destruction, what group (Isaiah 29:19) will emerge unscathed and, indeed, joyously?
  5. According to Isaiah 29:22, redemption and solace will come when (Isaiah 29:23)?
  6. And, when that does happen, who will be abashed (Isaiah 29:24)?
