Guiding Questions: Ezekiel 27

This is part of the Tanakh Yomi Project.

  1. Does Ezekiel 27 continue the theme of the previous chapter, and with the same city/state?
  2. How do Ezekiel 27:5-6 indicate that Tyre drew upon the precious resources of the nearby countries?
  3. Would Ezekiel 27:10 indicate that Tyre was (more or less) of an international commercial center?
  4. Do Ezekiel 27:10-11 make reference to hired protectors from any nations?
  5. Indeed, would Ezekiel 27:12-22 indicate a vast international commerce of which Tyre was the hub?
  6. Largesse, well-being, supporters, and hired protectors to the contrary notwithstanding what will be the result (Ezekiel 27:27)?
  7. In Ezekiel 27:31, reference is made to “baldness”; how does this refer to mourning?
  8. Is there any relief, of any kind, predicted at the end of this passage?
