Be a Shamash: Share Your Light This Hanukkah
This Hanukkah, during the darkest part of the year, we are thinking about the bright lights that surround us.
We are inspired by the Shamash, a unique candle in the Menorah. This candle has a particular role: to help light all the others and to shine the way forward.
Who is the Shamash in your life right now?
Who is spreading warmth, brightness, and kindness in your community?
We invite you, your communities, and your organizations to help us lift up the wonderful light being spread, the mitzvot being fulfilled, and the kindness shared around you. Let’s celebrate the ways we inspire and illuminate the world around us.
Examples of Being a Shamash
🌟 Volunteering at a food pantry
🌟 Hosting a holiday meal for those in need
🌟 Donating clothes or toys to families
🌟 Leading a community Hanukkah candle lighting
🌟 Teaching or mentoring others in meaningful ways
