Sukkot
The holiday of Sukkot is called "the time of our joy!"
Sukkot is the quintessential harvest festival.
We observe this annual commemoration of the wandering of the Jewish people in the wilderness and it reminds us of the ephemeral nature of life and how, when taken truly to heart and allowed to energize, it can inspire the human spirit.
Sukkot in 2024 begins on Wednesday evening, October 16th, with two days of holiday observance (for those in the diaspora until Friday night, October 18th. Sukkot goes directly into Shabbat this year for a “three-day chag.”
After the intermediate days, Sukkot concludes (for those in the diaspora) on Wednesday night, the 23rd, leading into Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah.
One should make an Eruv Tavshilin before the holiday.
